We came here to meet friends that were new RVers so we stayed in a "buddy" site. It was perfect for the reason we were here. One site is a pull in, and the other is a back in. That puts your awnings facing each other and you share a common grassy area. The location is perfect to visit the many wineries in the area. The park is well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. We had a view site that looked at the surrounding hills, but directly below was the RV storage area. A row of well placed hedges would have solved the problem.

This was a good location for an over nighter. The sites are gravel, but many have large shade trees. This is no longer a Passport America or GoodSam discount location, but the prices are very fair anyway. Very nice friendly staff.

A very nice California State Beach but basic in that there are no hookups. Beautiful views and easy beach access. We had some stiff winds while we were there that inhibited a lot of outside time. Otherwise it would have been a great. I would stay here again.

A very nice well maintained State Park. The sites are large, and all are back in. A boardwalk takes you out to the ocean with spectacular views of the rocky coast line, and a tide pool area for exploring. Sites had fire pits and picnic tables. Lots of room to ride bikes. Highly recommended!

An incredible state park in the middle of the California State Coast Redwood tree forest. Sites are limited to about 33' in length due to the abundance of old growth redwood trees. Many are over 100' tall. Many other forested places to visit nearby. This park is also next door to the visitor center. Forget satellite reception, the trees are so heavy it's impossible. But somehow I never had time to be bored. Picnic tables and fire pits at each site. All are roomy, even though the park roads are "snug". A highly recommended state park. However take note, NO dump station is available at this park. The restroom and shower facilities are immaculate however.

A "cozy" little park, but a great location for seeing the attractions around downtown Long Beach. A long well developed bike path is right outside the front gate of the park and goes along the water front. The sites are tight in the park, and tough to park your tow car or truck if towing an RV. The road is paved but all the sites are dirt. Many permanent residents have covered the dirt with astro turf. The office staff was extra friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Our site was fairly narrow, as were most of the sites. We had a glimpse of the ocean but could only hear passing traffic. The sunsets were spectacular though. It has mild coastal temps and is close to stores and services. This is a good summer get away, but plan early as this location fills up fast.

This is strictly primitive camping in front of the ocean. The roaring surf drowns out most of the sounds from the nearby road. We watched the dolphins play in the surf each day at about dusk. Signs warning of theft were posted, but we had no problems, and did not see any evidence of issues. All sites are first come first serve all the time. Folks were mostly friendly and respectful. I will stay here again.

This is a parking lot style campground, but you are on the beach. However, the sites are tight and the road noise from Pacific Coast Highway right next to the campground washes out the sound of the ocean. The local bird population was flourishing when we were there, and bird droppings covered everything. Oh, and don't plan on checking in early, the 2 PM check in time is strictly enforced. In fact the rules can be so rigid they can border on silly. We had unhooked the tow car from the Motorhome before we got to the check in gate because we knew that the campground was small and busy with one road in the middle. I followed the wife to the check in kiosk in the MH. The state employee at the kiosk (a fairly young man) wanted us to rehook the tow car to the motorhome to drive through the gate! We eventually talked him out of it, convincing him that we would just drive through and have to unhook prior to getting to the space anyhow. Good place to enjoy the beach never the less. I would camp here again.

Decent size sites, the ones that back up to the grassy area are best. Sites are gravel and dusty. Large area for kids to ride bikes and play. Nice in April, but would be hot in summer.

Paved sites, no sewer. Some sites are very un-level. The grass is watered every night, even in the rain. Some of the areas were quite muddy. During this trip the local Peacocks were mating. Loud screechs could be heard all through the night. Interesting to look at during the day, but tough to sleep at night.

Don't get to this park too early, the 2 PM check in is strictly enforced (by grumpy volunteers). The state rangers are quite friendly. Dry camping, but spectacular views. The sites vary in size, so large rigs need to select carefully. We were on an ocean side site. The row not on the ocean may have no views due to larger rigs parked in front.

We have stayed here many times, but this was our first time not in a "preferred" site. We couldn't help but notice that the attention of the maintenance staff has slipped. The sites are minimally cared for, and the hookups are difficult to use. The management of the park needs to look around and realize that many other parks are offering a lot more for a lot less money.

We stayed here for 2 weeks, and had originally planned on a month. We changed our minds. The park has some real potential with a handful of sites having a nice view of Bonelli resevoir. However, since our last stay about 9 months ago a significant number of long term residents have moved in. Their sites are cluttered with thrift store furniture and broken knic-knacks. The park is taking on a distinctive low income property feel. On my "B" loop, there were several old RV's that were literally held together with duct tape and rope, disputes among the residents were common, and despite the myriad of posted rules, quads and scooters raced around and through the sites without reprisal. If you get a preferred site with a view of the resevior this would be OK for a weekend, but longer than that forget it.

This is a spectacular RV resort in every sense of the word. The sites are great, some are very well appointed with entertainment centers, wet bars and out door lighting. The sites are privately owned, and then rented out by the park when the owner is not there. Several are for sale at various price levels. It must be noted that this park is for class A coaches ONLY. I am not sure if an age limit on the age of the coach is imposed, but I did not see many older rigs in the park. Well appointed grounds, 3 pools, chipping golf course, and a full club house with restaurant. One irritation was the laundry. The machines are card operated by a cash card you have to buy for $5. Then you load the cash card with money in $5, $10, or $20 dollars at a time. You swipe the card on the card reader on each machine which deducts the required fee. No change or refund is given for money left on the card. If you lived there for extended period of time this situation would work fine. But we were there for about 5 days and it would have been a waste of money. We went to a laundry in town. Some of the resident guests are quite disturbed buy the frequent sounds of "pickle ball" being played on the tennis courts for hours on end on most days. If you are noise sensitive, try for a spot away from the club house. I would stay here again.

A very nice park to experience the Southwest, or to stay for a season. It is well positioned to access many nearby attractions. With Passport America, the rates are great. The biggest downside to us for this park is the entire sites are 1/2 inch gravel. You will need a good size rug to give you a comfortable outside space. The pets may have a difficult time walking on the gravel. The maintenance is top notch and the staff is friendly. One other downside is the lack of water pressure. I had #30 pounds on the gauge where the water enters the RV. I had to run my on board water pump pulling water from my fresh tank to have sufficient pressure to shower. It could have been due to the park being mostly full. I will stay here again.

Good place for an over nighter. Very long sites permitted pulling in without unhooking the toad. Good laundry facilities. Close to the interstate so lots of road noise but tolerable. I would stay here again.

A nice state park that is well maintained. The sites were good size, but is a very fine sand. A rainy night made quite a mess. The dump station had three lanes and was well designed. A negative about the showers were that the top four feet of the outside wall of the shower room was open screen. It made for a quite chilly shower experience in 40 degree weather. I would stay here again, in warmer weather.

A nice state park, and the fees are reasonable. The sites are gravel and sand and are a decent size. The bugs got to be tedious, most the time you couldn't see them (tiny) but they bit. The facilities on the island are sparse, and you will need to drive off the island to find any real grocery stores. Wi-Fi signal was weak due to the distance and surrounding trees. We used a Verizon air card with an exterior antenna and power booster. We geocached many locations on the island. I would stay here again.

A very nice State Park. One of the few that has full hook ups at the site. The roads are paved and the sites are gravel. Metal shade structure at each site. No laundry facilities. The rate does not include a $3 per person per night entry fee. The fee is waived if you have a Yearly Park Pass. The pass is $60 a year. Worth it if you plan on visiting other parks throughout the year. I would stay here again.

We just made an over night stay here. It has a lot of the ammenities of most KOA parks, but the difference here was the attitudes of the staff. Very friendly and helpful from the first moment we arrived. Their WI-FI worked good, which was great since our verizon air card couldn't get good signal in a roaming area. Good pull throughs so we didn't have to unhook the toad. Dirt and gravel roads and sites. I would stay here again.

This is one of the nicest parks we have seen. What makes it really remarkable is all that they offer for the price. Their restroom facilities rivaled any 5 star hotel. All roads and pads are concrete, and the grass area between the sites is large and well kept. The attitudes of the staff is top notch and they really cater to the guests. If there is a negative connected to this park, it would be the narrow streets that you have to navigate to get here. Not the fault of the park in any sense, just a fact. When you turn off the main road it is about a mile to get to the park though a residential neighborhood. Drive carefully.

A decent park to stay in to explore Mobile. While the owner, Charlie, is very accommodating, the park has some issues. The sites are made up of large sharp gravel. Hard for pets to navigate. The park is located in a residential area, and is wide open to the passing road traffic. The area is a bit seedy, so for supplies it's best to drive a few exits down the freeway. Traffic noise and a near by airport make for some steady background noise. There are many permanent residents, some in park models. It is fairly priced for what is supplied.

A nice KOA and well maintained. We stayed in a view site which looks out on the city lights. Very nice at night. The sites and roads are all small gravel. A patio pad would have made this park a 9. Nice laundry facilities. There are some residences just below the park boundary, some are run down trailers. One minor irritation of mine, my site, #16, has the sewer connection too high, about 10" out of the ground. It made hooking up a bit of a challenge. Good KOA over all, I would stay here again.

This is an OK stop over park. The office staff was friendly, though did get easily frustrated on a simple change request. They also would not honor our Passport America because we were within 3 weeks of MardiGras. The sites are gravel and dirt, but fairly level. No trees or vegetation to speak of, and the I10 is quite close and the noise is always present. There is no scenic aspect to the park, and one end is bordered by a multistory Motel 8 and looks directly down on the campground. I would stay here again, but only if no other place was available.

We stayed here for a night on the way south in the Keys. The campground is average, and the sites can be on the tight side, especially if you have slides on both sides of your rig. The sites are gravel and dirt. It is not as manicured as some of the state parks that we have stayed in the area. The visitor center is fantastic with several large aquariums displaying several kinds of local sea life. A boat launch and a rental dive boat is also available. Given the price for staying at most places in the Keys, this park was a steal. I would stay here again.

This was our first time here and Disney did not disappoint us. The sites are level and groomed, and many are newly remodeled with fresh concrete and BBQ grills. Disney provides free transportation anywhere in it's facilities either by bus or boat. They even have a vector control program to keep control of the bugs. The whole park is manicured and maintained and was just a pleasure to stay in. The laundry facilities are new and nicely maintained. I will definitely stay here again!

This was a pricey KOA and had the usual amenities, plus some. The sites were nothing special, gravel and close together. The first spot we were shown would have had our MH window looking at a tall canvas covered chain link fence about 20 feet from the front of the rig. It turned out to be a sewage plant that emitted a constant hum. We requested to be moved and they allowed us to select another site that had a partial ocean view. It was the same price, so don't hesitate to go look at the site first before you take what you are given. They did have entertainment in their on site lounge/bar. It was a local band and we enjoyed the night. Good laundry facilities and an on site boat launch and marina. Overall we enjoyed it, but it was still over priced. But so are most things in the Keys, so if you are going, be prepared. If I were to find myself this far south in the Keys again, I would stay here.

There are very large sites, paved road. Most sites are shaded. There are nice bathroom facilities. Washers and dryers are available. There is a loop that is closer to the ocean, but there is no shade and the sites are much closer together. I would stay here again.

This is a beautiful well maintained Florida State Park. It is not very big so getting a site here will take some early planning. We just managed one night on our way out of the Keys. The restroom facilities are clean and new and the maintenance is top notch. The views from nearly all the sites is terrific. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a well equipped well maintained RV park. All concrete pads and paved roads. Nice space between sites and well lit at night. The only reason this park is not a 10 is that I noticed a variety of ambient noises in the area. Traffic noise from the freeway is audible at night, and there is apparently farm animals living nearby. Cows and even roosters could be heard in the morning hours. Unless you are noise sensitive this shouldn't be an issue. One particular point is that the sewer connections are raised about 8" out of the ground, and one of their tightly enforced regulations is that your sewer hose does not lay on the ground. A support system of some type shall be used. I had one, but if you don't I'm sure that they would sell you one. All in all a very nice park. I would stay here again.

This is basically a Mobil home park with a few seasonal pads available for rent. The sites are stacked very close together, and most are permanent residents. While there was no outward hostility towards us, you couldn't help feeling like you were camping in someones driveway while they were home. While there were amenities there, the sites are way over priced. Close to West Palm beach, and the ocean. I would look hard to find someplace else to camp in the future instead of here.

A good centrally located park. The sites are close together and the park was really full. This was in part to being a "Passport America" park. The KOA up the road was deserted. The owner is a really good guy and goes out of his way to help you. The laundry facilities are poor, cold water only. I would stay here again.

Good for an overnighter or two. Sites are flat, and flood easy when it rains. And they could use some fresh gravel. The TA truck stop next door has closed down. The laundry facility was poor. They were clean, but performed poorly. Dryers took two cycles of 45 minutes to get clothes minimally dry. Spoke to the office staff but the attitude was "they are not ours, we just split the money with the company that owns them". I would probably stay at the state park next time. It's close by and rated higher.

Nicely maintained state park. Georgia does a good job designing and maintaining their parks. Big level site, right on the lake. Close to Callaway Gardens and the town of Pine Mountain. Nice 15 mile bike trail at Callaway. Quiet at night, peaceful during the day. I would stay here again.

Extremely nice state park. The sites have all been leveled by framing in the parking areas with stacked 4X6 beams. New gravel in the sites with a picnic table and rock fire ring at each site. The roads are paved. There was a warm bath house with a new washer and dryer in front. The bath houses are a little worn, but completely acceptable. There is a children's play ground with toys.

The interesting part about this park is that it shares a fence with the other two parks in the area, Yogi Bear and KOA. So there is not a lot of difference in the parks or where you stay. The park is in average condition with gravel sites. There are a few downsides to this park. The freeway is very close and is a constant noise. But worse than that is the "Gray Line" bus lot next door. There is a constant noise of beeping back up warning buzzers as buses are moved around the lot at all hours. Seriously, we were awakened several times during the nights at 2 and 3 in the morning. When we commented to the office about it, the response was that most people don't complain unless they are on the fence line next to the bus lot. We were in the middle of the park, but that is only 40 yards farther from the buses. Leaves had fallen from the trees and no effort was ever made to clean the sites. We were there for a week. Due to the bus lot we would not stay here again.

This may be the best State Park I have stayed in. The sites are paved and wide, 4 are full hook up. First come first serve, no reservations. Fantastic lake with easy access, 5 miles of paved bike trails, and quiet at night. We were there for the change of leaf colors on the trees. It was truly beautiful. The staff is helpful and friendly. There is an on site laundry, but is older and could use some new equipment. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice campground, good size spaces. It was pretty empty during the week but really filled up on the weekend. My biggest negative was the showers. You needed to hold in a push button to activate the water flow. In the summer that would not be an issue, but with mornings below freezing it was a chore to shower and not chill in the process. I would stay here again.

One of the more unusual designed parks we have stayed in. Most of the sites are built on a hill with different terraces available. There are also sites that are literally right off of a roadway that runs in front of the park. The roads are narrow, and larger rigs may have a problem backing in to the hill sites as most toads or tow vehicles have to park in front of the RV. Very small laundry facilities, two machines and two dryers. I would stay here again, but location is everything.

This KOA is pricey, but for good reason. It is one of the nicest parks I have ever stayed in. We stayed in a premium site which included concrete patio, iron patio set with umbrella, cast iron chimenia, and 12 volt lighting around the edge of the patio. The campground has it's own boat launch and dock with benches for enjoying the view. This was the 2005 KOA Presidents award winner park, and with good reason. The staff was friendly and helpful and made you feel welcome. I would definitely stay here again.

This park is over priced for what you are offered. The sites are dirt and the grass is sparse. This is a sister site to the New Bern KOA, which was a 10+. This was nothing special. This park need a renovation, starting at the front office. The office staff is a group of older ladies who are not very interested in customer service. We noted it checking in, and then a week later when we were going to extend one day, the counter person said that it was not possible as my site was rented. She made no attempt and did not offer to move us. She just walked away. There is over 1000 sites here! We opted to move to the state park about 12 miles down the coast. It was very nice and about half the price. The sites are sand and dirt, the roads are sand and dirt. When it rains there is quite a mess to navigate. The pool looked nice, but the rules do not make them user friendly. The on site store is very minimal, but it may have had to do with the time of the year, although there is a significant amount of seasonal and full time residents here. There is a 6 foot tall berm that separates the park from the beach, but there are openings in the berm about every 40 yards. The berm blocks most of the view from the park. This particular stretch of beach has several drain pipes that empty to the ocean. Signs are posted advising persons to stay 200 feet away from the drains due to bacteria. I would not stay here again.

This is a well maintained park, with one unusual warning. There is a road, an actual street, that runs through the campground. At the back of the campground the road runs up a hill and into a residential area. Traffic will sometimes speed through the campground, in spite of a stop sign by the office. Children and pets should be kept on a short leash, for their own safety. The owners are friendly and helpful. Each site has a concrete patio that is surrounded by permanent wood benches for seating, and a fire pit. I would stay here again.

We were talked into a "premium" site with 50 amp service (that we didn't need). The only advantage was it was a pull through. The roads were pretty rutted from a prior storm that we were there for over a week, no attempt at repair was made. I marked the site as having no pool because it was closed and covered with debris floating on top for our entire stay. It was convenient to certain local attractions, but overall it is over priced for what you get. The laundry facilities were minimal and didn't not work well.

This is a RV resort where most of the spaces are full time residents. Some of the residents make their spaces available for rent. The roads are fully paved as well as the sites. There is grass around all the sites. Surprisingly there is a water drainage problem although the whole area sits on a finger of land with the Atlantic ocean on one side and a bay on the other. We had 3" of standing water behind our site for most of our stay. There is Wi-Fi, but getting a signal from our site was impossible. When we first arrived a large storm was brewing and for a unknown reason the entire bay was empty of water. It did return in a few days, but the bugs remained all the time. Dusk is thick with gnats, and spiders abound. A great view of the ocean is available from most spots.

While this park had all of it's advertised amenities, it was not worth the price. My "upgraded" site had a sparsely graveled pad and looked at the back of a chain link boat storage yard. Any visitor to your site pays $5 EACH. That included my 88 year old Aunt! There is an electronic lift gate at the entrance that has to be activated by an employee, regardless of the time of day. I waited several minutes on some occassions while the gate employee wandered off. Children on golf carts were always a threat to run into you as you walked throughout the park. This is over priced for what you are asked to put up with. I would not stay here again.

Very nice quiet park. Children are allowed but not sought after. Well maintained park, some sites are more sloped than others. The only thing keeping this park from being a 9 or 10 is the lack of sewer at each site. The pump service is available for a fee. I would stay here again.

Super long sites, but are back to back. Not a big problem though since the campground was pretty empty. Very quiet at night. Close to town. Concrete patios were nice. Lots of grass. They do not accept any type of credit or debit cards so bring cash or check. I would stay here again.

A very nice state park at a very reasonable rate. Sites have 30 amp electric only, no sewer or water hook up. A dump station is available with potable water. Most sites have a view of the lake, or the "pond" as it is refered to. The biggest drawback for us was the mosquito population made it hard to hang out outdoors. It sold out on the weekends, and was nearly deserted during the week. At a different time of year this park would be a 10.

This was the closest RV park to the Rocky Mountain National Park, and therefore get a lot of business. It advertises itself as a "RV Resort" but I'm not sure why. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the park had reasonable amenities. However, the grounds were not very well cared for. Their was a poor excuse for grass growing randomly around the sites and it had not been cut recently. The roads in the park are dirt, and therefore any slight bit of traffic creates a dust cloud inside the RV. The sites were fairly level, but sparse gravel made them uneven to walk on. The sites are built on a terraced hill so many of the sites are very narrow. I had a site in the "A" row and there was not enough room to put a chair out next to the RV without being on the slope up to the next RV. When my awning was extended it was literally an inch from the next RV. It was close to the town and close to the National Park, but by no means a "Resort". The office wanted to charge me a premium if I wanted 50 amp service, and to hook up to the park cable.

Stopped in here for two nights. The park was well kept, but the grass could have been mowed. The park staff is friendly. The first night the town Hurricane alert siren went off. The park employees failed to mention that the administrative building was the hurricane shelter when we checked in. This led to some confusion at first. Park is close to shopping and restaurants. Easy access off the freeway.

A very well maintained park, and Joe, the owner does a great job of customer service. We used the park to explore the Badlands. The only drawback during this visit was the White River, which runs right next to the park had water in it. That provided a bumper crop of mosquitos. So much in fact that we left earlier than planned. I would stay here again at a different time of year.

Gravel sites and roads. Rather large rock makes it difficult for dogs to walk on. Also difficult for children trying to ride a bicycle. Large spaces but only one water hook up for 2 spaces. This means that every other RV needs to run the water hose under your rig and hook up on the curb side. Bring 2 hoses to be sure to have enough hose. The first space we were put into was next to a TT with two large dogs. The dogs had been left chained up outside for an extended period and left several piles of feces that no one had picked up. One of the breeds was a Pit/Rottwieller mix. Both breeds were supposedly not allowed in the park due to insurance regulations. Upon bringing this to the attention of the park management, nothing was done. Upon our insistence we were given another space 4 spaces away. The laundry facility was nice with new front loader machines, although they were a little pricey at $2.00 per load.

We camped here because of a review we found on this site. Well maintained park owned by the City of Mitchell. Right on Lake Mitchell and close to attractions in town. Mitchell has a mosquito control program so the flying pests are nicely controlled. Would definitely stay here again!
